Yes, students can enroll in a dual degree program at the University of Lugano. Students who enroll in the double degree program can study at and graduate from two top institutions of computational science and engineering.

What is the procedure for the dual degree program at the University of Lugano?

Students can register as students at both universities for the entirety of the Master’s program. The master’s degree programs typically last four semesters and include 120 ECTS credits. Both universities have students enrolled concurrently(FAU and USI).

The first semester, for instance, can be spent at the student’s home university while they take some online courses (such as the required “Efficient Computational Algorithms”) at the partner institution.

These students will, for instance, transfer to the partner institution in the second semester, finish their second semester of coursework there (30 ECTS), and then transfer back to their home university for the third and fourth semesters. Spending the third semester (30 ECTS) at the partner institution and the remaining semesters at the home university is an alternative.
