About (PHARMBIOTRAC)

Pharm-Biotechnology and Traditional Medicine center PHARMBIOTRAC) is an interdisciplinary field of study that bridges the gap between pharmacy and biotechnology. The center studies how to develop new drugs and therapies using biotechnology. This field is necessary because it can help create new treatments for diseases that have been difficult to treat with traditional methods. Additionally, pharm-biotechnology can lead to the discovery of more targeted and effective drugs with fewer side effects.

The center is among the 24 Eastern and Southern Africa Higher Education Centers of Excellence (ACE II) Programs. It is at the Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

Mbarara University of Science and Technology Scholarships 

MUST PHARMBIOTRAC MSc And Ph.D. Scholarships 

This scholarship is open to international students who wish to pursue their MSc and Ph.D. programs in medicine at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. It is renewable for an additional year for MSc recipients and up to 2 years for Ph.D. recipients and is competitive. The scholarship is fully funded because it covers tuition fees, accommodation, and all research expenses like seminars, workshops, and fieldwork.

However, the applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery or other health science-related courses. This is in addition to M. Med (or equivalent) degree in a field related to Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Clinical Pharmacy, Public Health, and Epidemiology for applicants for the Ph.D. scholarship.

Meanwhile, students have the privilege of selecting from the under-listed scholarships at MUST in case they are not eligible for the PHARMBIOTRAC scholarship.
