1. Merit-Based Scholarships 


The Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania offers merit-based scholarships for incoming entry students. The applicant’s GPA determines how much money in these merit-based scholarships the candidate will immediately get from LHU.

All new first-year full-time students are eligible for these funds, which will be distributed equally between the fall and spring semesters. As long as the student maintains a 2.0 cumulative GPA, these awards will be renewed annually (for a maximum of eight semesters).

2. Lock Haven University Foundation Scholarships

For All LHU scholarships, applicants need to submit ONE application. Scholarships are given based on several factors, including financial need, major, minor, and GPA. While some scholarships are one-time only, others might be. 

Before submitting a scholarship application, you must have your acceptance letter at LHU. Students who don’t send letters of appreciation may be ineligible for more scholarship money.

3. LHU Global Honors Program

The Lock Haven University’s Global Honors Program (GHP) aims to involve distinctly qualified students in an improved learning environment exclusive to LH University and other academic institutions. Academic brilliance is recognized and promoted by the Global Honors Program. According to crucial metrics like high school GPA, class rank, SAT, or ACT scores, we typically draw the top 5% of students. As a result, academic credentials are given priority in our admissions decisions.

Incoming entry students with a 3.5 GPA or higher, an SAT score of 1220 or higher and a high school graduation rank stand a chance for a scholarship.  Matriculated or Transfer Students: We are looking for students with a track record of success in higher education. As a result, 3.2 is the minimum GPA for transfer students. 

4. ROTC Scholarships

Each year, the Army ROTC offers several scholarships to deserving students who want to join the Army as officers. Scholarships are accessible through a competitive process. Army ROTC scholarships are only awarded based on merit. There may be two-, three-, or four-year packages of scholarships available.

5. PACAC Scholarships

High school seniors graduating from PACAC member high schools are eligible for the PACAC Scholarships. The aim is to assist students in pursuing their desire to further their education.

How are selections for international admission made?

The board makes admission decisions based on the applicant’s academic credentials, English language ability, aptitude testing results and ability to pay for their courses at Lock Haven University. Lock Haven is seeking applicants who have successfully finished a demanding academic program, are exceptionally driven, and have received strong test scores.

Do I have to take the English proficiency test?

Yes. Candidates who do not speak English as their first language must show they can communicate in the language. The TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, Pearson: PTE Academic, Cambridge English (CPE), GTEC, and Duolingo test scores are all accepted by the admissions office. You can also use the ACT and SATs.

Can I apply to Lock Haven University as a student in my final year of study?

No. The university would prefer you apply in your final year by sending a transcript containing your mid-year final-year grades and marks.

What should I do after admission into the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania?

After admission, the university requires you to pay a $100.00 tuition deposit. You can ask for a fresh I-20 to be admitted to Lock Haven University the following semester if the admission board rejects your application for some reason.
