Kendall College Scholarships: Application and Eligibility

The Kendall College Scholarships allow recipients to enrol and finish their undergraduate degrees at Kendall. These scholarships are available for all of the university’s programs. Students from both local and international institutions may apply for these Kendall College renewable scholarships.

Scholarships for incoming freshman, scholarships for transfer students, and scholarships for continuing (current) students are the three categories into which the Kendall College Scholarships are divided. Students may apply for any Kendall College Scholarships depending on their admissions status.

These Kendall College Scholarships are awarded based on need or merit. Merit-based scholarships are available to students with formidable cumulative GPAs and leadership skills, and need-based Kendall College Scholarships are available to students who are just entering the institution and are experiencing financial hardship.

Kendall College is a private institution affiliated with National Louis University (NLU) in Chicago, Illinois. This college focuses on culinary arts and hotel management. 

Kendall College offers undergraduate and graduates degrees in business, culinary arts, early childhood education, and hospitality management. It is a four-year professional training institute in the heart of Chicago, along the Chicago River. 

Kendall is part of Laureate International Universities. It also offers associate degrees in culinary arts.

Opportunities for Study and Scholarships at Kendall College 

Below are the different funding opportunities available at Kendall College.

1. Kendall Scholarship of Merit

Every year, students enrolling in undergraduate or graduate studies receive Scholarships of Merit. The scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time during the enrollment periods in which they will receive the award. All applicants for this scholarship must have a verified KCAD GPA. Graduate students require a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, while undergraduate applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30.

2. Woodbridge N. Ferris Incoming Freshman Scholarships

For both incoming, transfer, and continuing students. Many scholarships are available at Ferris State University for incoming freshman, including those attending KCAD.

Every incoming freshman from Big Rapids main campus or Kendall College of Art & Design who qualifies receives a Woodbridge N. Ferris (WNF) Scholarship. No essay or scholarship application is necessary; if you are eligible, a scholarship will be given to you instantly.

Woodbridge N. Ferris Scholarships for incoming first-time students are GPA-only awards except for Founder’s Scholarship.

3. Kendall Portfolio Scholarships

For both incoming and transfer students. New undergraduates are eligible for these scholarships. Freshman and transfer undergraduate students who exhibit extraordinary artistic and creative talent are eligible for portfolio scholarships. Consideration for this scholarship commences automatically upon evaluation of the applicant’s portfolio.

This scholarship may be given based on a KCAD Admissions Counselor’s recommendation. This scholarship opportunity does not require a separate application.

4. Kendall Grant

For incoming, transfer, and continuing students. Undergraduate students are eligible for this need-based scholarship.Kendall Grant is also gift aid. There is no repayment obligation. The undergraduate student population is eligible for this institutional award based on need.

Students must submit the FAFSA form and enrol at least half-time to be eligible (minimum of 6 credits per semester). The amount of the award varies and depends on enrollment. Distribution o the award fund will occur efficiently for enrolments less than full-time.

5. Kendall NEXT Scholarship

High school dual enrollment students are eligible for this scholarship, which is renewable for an additional three years. Every year, Kendall College provides new high school dual enrollment freshman the Kendall NEXT Scholarships.

The Kendall NEXT Scholarship is worth $1,000 every year. The fall and spring semesters will each get an equal amount of this grant. The award is renewable if and only if the student maintains full-time enrollment for three years and maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.75. $4000 is the maximum lifetime value.

If a dual-enrolled high school student meets the prerequisites, the KCAD NEXT scholarship may be available to them before they receive their final grade for the course. The student will lose the offer if they fail to score a C or higher.

6. Woodbridge N. Ferris Transfer Scholarships

Numerous scholarships at Ferris State University are available for transfer students, including KCAD students. Scholarships for Transfer for Students at KCAD and the Main Campus of Big Rapids. These scholarships will be accessible to the incoming main campus and KCAD Transfer students.

Scholarship Benefits

  • $10,000 to $40,000 per year for four years of the program
  • Award for one year 
  • Some scholarships are worth up to $24,5081, or 25% of the cost of tuition.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 3.90/4.00 scale, 31 on the ACT, and 1350 on the SAT high overall GPA.
  • Calls for ongoing full-time enrolment
  • 3.30 cumulative GPA for renewal
  • must be accepted into a program at Kendall College that awards degrees.
  • Applicant must possess a high school diploma.
  • Candidate must apply to Kendall College full-time within five years of graduating from high school.
  • Students who transfer out are ineligible.
  • Must have completed a KCAD or FSU collaborative high school dual enrollment program with a grade of C or better in at least three credits.
  • Upon maintaining satisfactory academic achievement, the scholarship is renewable.
  • Regular full-time enrolment is a requirement for renewal.
