3. Talent-Based Scholarship
Students who do well in the entrance examination of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts are eligible for talent-based scholarships. The talent-based scholarship is not fully funded. It provides a partial tuition waiver.

Students enrolled in the undergraduate program at the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture are required to take a certain number of required courses each semester and to maintain a grade point average of at least 1.80.

To receive financial aid from Bilkent University, the applicant must meet the following criteria;
- Undergraduate scholarship applicants must have completed high school studies.
- The candidate must meet a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.80 in a 4.00 CGPA system at the time of application.
- Applicants having Turkish citizenship or residing in Turkey must present an ALES score of 55.

Financial aid applicants are evaluated based on their high school grades, performance on national or international exams, program preferences, and other relevant academic standards. Scholarships with tuition waivers are available for four semesters in the English Preparatory Program.
Scholarships are available for a maximum of ten semesters in four-year undergraduate programs. Housing scholarships are available for up to 8 semesters.

Can I obtain an ID card to use the Ankara National Library?
Yes, you can. Every Bilkent University faculty member is eligible for permanent library cards. To obtain your National Library entrance card, fill out the appropriate form and present your current university ID card (Bilkent University ID) to the National Library attendant.
What types of accommodations does the university provide?
The university provides rent-free private and furnished one or two-bedroom apartments. However, there are charges for utilities in the living quarters. In addition, every apartment building has communal laundry facilities.
How much is the utility fee currently?
The utility fee is around $80 (paid in Turkish Lira). It covers heating, garbage collection, and general maintenance. In addition, electricity bills are distinct.
Are there any grocery stores around the accommodation facilities?
Yes, there are nearby grocery stores. If you need to replace a few things, Bilmarket (Meteksan Market) is directly behind the Student Council building on Main Campus. It sells food, including a good selection of foreign foods and fresh produce, as well as daily newspapers, detergents, stationery, and other necessities.
The store is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., including weekends.
Can I drive in Turkey with my current driver’s license?
Foreign citizens can use their original driver’s license in Turkey for only six months. However, after six months, they must either convert their original license into a Turkish one or apply for a new Turkish driver’s license. But this will depend on where they obtained their driver’s license.
Does the Housing Office staff install or repair items purchased by me at the University apartment?
Housing Office personnel can help you with any maintenance issues in your apartment. They can arrange for service technicians to fix appliances and other items you own. If you make your arrangements, however, you must pay the service fee to the company or individual who performs the service call.
