BGSH Scholarships – Funding, Value, and How to apply

The BGSH Scholarship is fully explicitly funded for students planning to pursue a Ph.D. in History at the University of Basel. The scholarship is worth up to CHF 20,000 to cover the total cost of tuition and provide a stipend for living expenses.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be an outstanding student with a master’s degree and also display a high level of motivation with a solid drive to carry out the project independently. Applicants can opt for research in the following specificities: Early Modern History, Modern and Contemporary History, Medieval History, Jewish History, Global History, Eastern European History, or African History.

The BGSH Scholarships are sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the University of Basel.
