Anxiety and Depression Association of America Scholarships: Application Guide

ADAA is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the means to prevent, treat, and cure anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and co-occurring disorders through science, therapy, and education.

ADDA aims to discover new treatments and one day alleviate and prevent anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders. ADDA improves the quality of life of candidates who suffer through evidence-based resources, shared knowledge, and scientific research.

ADAA connects specialists in mental health care who have volunteered their time and services for the purpose of improving patient care across professions through ongoing training and advancements and has increased research of practices into practice. ADAA assists in eliminating the stigma surrounding anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders through education, awareness raising, outreach, and other programs.

Applicable Courses

The Association for Depression and Anxiety Scholarship is available to students who are taking courses that focus on depression and anxiety. The scholarship is worth $500 and can be used to help pay for tuition, books, and other expenses related to your education. To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a full-time student enrolled in an accredited college or university. You must also have a 2.5 GPA or higher and be a US citizen or legal resident.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must complete the BIPOC Membership Scholarship Application and include it in the rest of the application materials.
  • Applicants must submit a personal statement describing their area of focus, why they want to become a member of ADAA, and how ADAA can benefit their career. They also must explain how they intend to contribute to the mission of the ADAA.
  • Applicants must provide a brief biography (not more than two to three paragraphs in length) and all materials should be submitted in a single PDF or Word document.
