Overview of Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA)

The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a national initiative to attract the best and brightest students worldwide to come and do their PhDs in Singapore. SINGA offers full scholarships, monthly stipends, and other benefits to help students complete their studies.

It partners with the under-listed institutions for students to pursue Ph.D. studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics in Singapore.

Overview of Lim Kim San Memorial Scholarship

The Lim Kim San Memorial Scholarship was established in 2006 by the Singapore government in memory of Mr. Lim Kim San, who served as the Minister for Finance and Transport from 1955 to 1959. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding Singaporean students who demonstrate financial need and are pursuing full-time undergraduate studies at a local university in Singapore. To date, the Lim Kim San Memorial scholarship has helped over 1,000 students pay for their education.

For SINGA                                               

You will enjoy the following benefits as a beneficiary of SINGA:

  • Tuition fees for up to four years
  • A monthly stipend of two thousand two hundred(2,200) Singaporean dollars, subject to an additional five hundred (500) Singaporean dollars if you pass the Qualifying Exam.
  • A One-time flight ticket of up to one thousand five hundred (1,500) Singaporean dollars
  • A One-time settling-in allowance of one thousand Singaporean dollars.

In addition, you can embark on research studies with distinguished and world-renowned researchers in world-class research laboratories in Singapore.

For Lim Kim San Memorial Scholarship                                        

  • Payment of full-time tuition, course, and examination fee for the program
  • Annual stipend of two thousand Singaporean dollars
  • Yearly book allowance of three hundred Singaporean dollars
  • You will be privileged to have Internship opportunities at Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) as a recipient of the award.

Applicable Courses

The awards are open to undergraduate and graduate students who wish to pursue their careers in Humanities and language courses.

The Ph.D. Scholarships are open to international students who wish to have research in Biomedical Sciences, Physical Science, and Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

SINGA

  • You must be an international student enrolled full-time. program
  • You should have an outstanding academic transcript
  • You should have a remarkable report from your referees

  • Your skills in written and spoken English should be top-notch

Note that the scholarship eligibility requirements are subject to amendment at intervals, so there could be additional criteria you must fulfill.

Lim Kim San Memorial Scholarship

  • You must be a citizen of Singapore,
  • You should have a minimum of GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ level/Polytechnic results for an undergraduate award
  • Outstanding academic performance in your Bachelor’s degree.
  • Your family income should be S$5,000 or less
  • You should be willing and ready to engage in community services while studying at the university.

The A*STAR Scholarship is a competitive scholarship awarded to outstanding students with excellent academic results who are interested in pursuing a career in science and technology. The scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly allowance, and other benefits.

 Are there any fully funded scholarships for international students?

What is the PEO scholarship?

The PEO scholarship is a need-based scholarship for women interested in pursuing higher education. The scholarship is awarded based on financial need and can be used for tuition, books, and other educational expenses.

SINGA

  • Search for your desired Ph.D. Research and select it
  • Attach all the required documents in PDF format and submit your application online.

Note that the SINGA application will not be received in hard copy. You should provide genuine information that is verifiable.

Here are the documents you will attach to your SINGA application.

  • A valid traveling passport
  • A recent passport photograph  (in .jpeg or.png format)
  • Attach your academic transcripts, they must be in English language (bachelors or master’s)
  • A copy of the recommendation letter from each of your referees (a minimum of two referees required)

In addition, you can add your language proficiency test results from GRE / IELTS / TOEFL / SAT I & II / GATE.
